Where To?

Maniac Magee runs away from home and wanders into Two Mills, Pennsylvania. If you traveled alone like Maniac, where would you choose to go? What would you do once you got there? Describe your journey using lots of details.

  1. If I ran away from home, I would take a huge adventure and walk all the way to the Pacific Ocean. I would travel through small towns and try food in tiny restaurants. I would explore through woods and visit different beaches. I would love climbing mountains and finally sticking my feet into the Pacific Ocean. I think my final destination would be in Seattle, Washington. I really want to catch a fish at the market. When you order one, the workers toss it over people and stands! Imagine "catching" your dinner! After all of those adventures, I'm not sure if I would want to return home...or just keep walking through Canada until I reached Alaska. :)

  2. If I ran away from home, I would go to Memphis,Tennessee. I would visit all my friends and family that live there. I would eat at all my favorite restaurants, go see amazing animals at the Memphis Zoo, and hang out with my friends that live there. It would be really hard to leave, but I would to keep on walking. I would keep on walking to Indiana. I hove some family there, and I would have to make it there by the Fourth of July , because there is always a huge carnival. After that I would walk back home , because I would miss my family too much. That would be quite an adventure!

  3. If I ran away from home I would visit New York City. In New York, I would do so much more stuff though. I would go to Time Square and if I didn’t have any money, I still would enjoy looking at the jumbo screen in the middle of the street. Also I would visit where the twin towers crashed to honor family and friends that died from this terrible crash. New York has some places that everyone likes, that is why I would run to New York.

  4. If I ran away, I would go to Paris. In Paris I would go and see the Eifel tower. The Eifel looked like it had a million gates put together. But when I looked at the Eifel tower it was not as big as I thought it would be! Also I saw the Arc de Triomphe, it was huge! It like a huge building with a oval shape in the middle and a flag in the middle of the building. The only thing I would dislike going to Paris is that I don’t speak French. Anyway that would be the best trip if I ever ran away

  5. If I ran away from home, I would head south to the Florida Keys. I love to fish. I love the ocean. I would start my journey by going to Homestead, FL to see my Aunt Sandi. After that I would start going from island to island until I reached Key West. On each Key I would explore the island and fish. I would enjoy the warm weather and blue Atlantic Ocean. I don't know if I'd ever want to go home. :)

  6. If I ran away from home, I would go all the way to Fargo, North Dakota. I would cavort in the snow and meet my old friends. It would take a long time to get there, but it would be worth it. The first thing I would do is travel to the Jordan Hare stadium in Alabama and explore and eat. Once I am done there, I would go to Kentucky to see my relatives. I would probably lie to them if they asked me why I was there. I would leave them at night, and then set off for Iowa where my grandpa lives. I would spend the night at his house, and then leave in the morning. My next destination would be Mount Rushmore. I would look inside all of the gift shops, and then spend the night in a hotel nearby. When morning arrives, I will head straight for Fargo, where my friends will be waiting.

  7. If I ran away I would go to Breckenridge,Colorado ( I would go there for the winter).I would go there because I love cold weather and I love to go tubing. On my way there I would stop and go tubing. I would also stop and ride snowmobiles around skiing slopes. After that I would ride on an alpine slide. (I went on a alpine slide in Wyoming once)
After a long day of all of that I would go get hot chocolate then I would go in the hot tub. That would probably be the best trip ever if I did that.

  8. If I ran away from home, I would probably go to my hometown in New Jersey. The first thing I would do is see my family. I missed them a lot. Then when my friends school was finished, I would surprise them by going to see them at their house. The next thing I would do is probably enroll in my old school if I'm going to be there for a while and go back to see the teachers that I had before. After all that excitement, I would want to go home.

  9. My nickname is Johnny. I got this name when I figured out that I didn’t want to be called by my real name (John). My real name didn’t sound very appealing to me. So I decided to go by Johnny. Usually everyone calls me by my nickname because I’ve had it for so long and I don’t really like when they call me John.

  10. If I ran away I would go to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Along the way I would play as much games as I want with my I Pad. When I reach Pittsburgh I would go to all the Steelers players’ houses and ask them to take me under their wing. Eventually when one of players takes me in I would be able to go to every one of the Pittsburgh Steelers games. Then I would be able to go into the locker room ask every single player to autograph my cards.

  11. I would go to Italy because I think Italy is awesome! The main reason I would go there is for the great Italian food!I would see a lot of sites like The Leaning Tower Of Pisa! I could also grow up to be a chef because I love cooking and Italian food especially. I'm sure I would have a blast living in Italy but I will still miss my house and family!

  12. If I were to wander away from home, I would venture a short distance to Daytona Beach. I chose this spot because one, I have a place to stay and two, I know all of the best restaurants! Another nice thing about Daytona is the wonderful weather and beaches! I sure would enjoy stretching out and relaxing under the blazing summer sun

  13. If I ran away from home with no money at all and with police all over the place looking for stray kids to put in an orphanage, I would want to treat myself the best way I could. So, I would go to Bloomington, Minnesota, the place of North America’s second largest mall-the Mall of America! I would survive off of free samples from the nearby restaurants on the second level of the mall. Every once in a while, I would “borrow” some clothes from a nearby store (Hey! I’m homeless). After that, I would entertain myself at the Nickelodeon Universe, The Theme Park Food court, a mini-bowling alley, a movie theater, the LEGO store, and mini-golf on the first, fourth and third floors! Once I’m done with the day, I will sneak into the bathroom of a mattress store, wait until they put down the gate, and then I will use the mattresses there to sleep on! I will then wake up early in the morning and hide until the mall opens again! With a routine as easy and as fun as this every day, I might never want to go home again!

  14. If I ran away from home, I would go to Minnesota. I would want to go there because my aunt lives there. She used to live close to us, but moved away. I miss her a lot. I would also pay a visit to the Mall Of America. But, after that adventure, I would want to come home and see my friends and family.

  15. If I ran away, I would bringg my money and find an airport that lets kids ride alone, call my cousins, and catch a plane to Boca Raton. I barely get to see my cousins except on holidays, but not Halloween. I always want to go to their birthday parties, but they live 3 hours away. *sigh*

  16. I would go to Hawaii. I would get there by a luxury plane, custom made for me. But then there would be some turbulence and the engine would stop working. So I would have to grab a parachute and jump off of the plane before it crashed. I would land in a beautiful, lush, green jungle. I would then call out for help and, luckily, someone would hear me and take me to the nearest town. But there no one spoke English so from there I traveled on foot until I got to a beach where I saw, on the other side, an inviting looking city. Fortunately it turned out that I had made reservations at a hotel in this city and once I got to my room I would have called room service for some food and by then my brilliant adventure would be over.
