If you were a friend of Maniac's, what would you advise him to do about living in the East End with the Beales? Would you encourage him to stay? Would you agree that he should leave? Write what advice you would give Maniac Magee and back up your thoughts with reasons.
I would not agree with Maniac to leave and advise him to stay because he has no food, shelter, clothes or an adult to guide him. The Beales provide him all those things so he should stay there.
ReplyDeleteI would encourage maniac to stay because every single person in the world should have a home in my opinion. I would tell him that if you ran away I would call the cops and the army. I would tell them what you look like and they would go searching for you. If he left I would get very mad that he left and I swear my life that I would do that, and If they did find you I would go everywhere you go to make sure you don’t run away.
ReplyDeleteI think Maniac should stay because he has a wonderful life with the Beales and Maniac loves Mrs.Beale and his family. Also Maniac has no place to go if he does not stay. Maniac gets along with everybody and everybody loves him. Like Amanda she was so mad when Maniac left that she kicked Bow wow and the furniture. One more thing he will not stay warm and he would starve to death.

Also he has people who care about him that love him for who he is and not by the color of his skin unlike the rest of the East end. If he goes he will hardly stay alive and he will not have anyone to help him get through tough times like he does at the Beal’s.
ReplyDeleteI think Maniac needs to stay with the Beales because they provide him shelter and food and much more things he need to have a good life and survive. If he is all by himself and nowhere to live it can be dangerous and he won’t have the right things you need to live.
ReplyDeleteI would encourage Maniac to stay because even though he doesn’t have the same color skin as them, he is still one of them. Also, he is very nice to all of the people in the town. He helps little kids with their knots, and he treats adults with respect and he does all of the chores at the Beale household. Stay, Maniac, stay!
ReplyDeleteIf I were Maniac’s friend, I would advise him to stay because if he left, he wouldn’t have people to care for him, friends, or food to eat. He would live life on the road and might see and learn things that he shouldn’t. I would tell him all the events he would miss and that he has folks who care for him and he might not ever get the chance to have that again.
ReplyDeleteI think Maniac should stay because he is enjoying himself and loves the Beale’s. Also Maniac has no place to go if he does not stay. Maniac finds a way to get along with everyone even if they dislike him. The Beale’s love him staying there. Amanda got so upset him saying that he was going to leave so she kicked Bow Wow and threw a pretty big tantrum. If Maniac goes he won’t have good shelter, food and who knows what else! I think Maniac should stay with the Beale’s because they would be a great family!
ReplyDeleteIf I were a friend of Maniac’s, I would encourage him to stay with the Beales because Maniac has never had a real family where he feels connected (except when he lived with his parents, but his parents are dead). He should not leave because he will lose that good feeling he had when he was with the Beales. He also really loves books and he can’t borrow books from Amanda or get a library card if he leaves. I would tell Maniac to untie that knot at Cobble’s Knot and give all the pizza to the Beales because they have done so much for him.
ReplyDeleteI think Maniac should stay with the Beales. They are giving him food and shelter. Just because a couple of people despise him he shouldn’t leave. Just because he is not the same color as everyone else in the East End doesn’t mean he should leave either. He traveled 200 miles by foot to get there so it would be a waste to go now.

ReplyDeleteIf I was Maniacs friend I would tell him to stay at the Beale’s house. He doesn’t belong there and a lot of people don’t like him, but he gets taken care of. If he leaves he won’t have a family. Also, everyone loves him in the family. Even though the place is not perfect for him, he should stay there.
ReplyDeleteI think Maniac should stay because he gets lots of care in the East End even though his color is different. Just because a couple people say he should leave doesn’t mean he has to. He is also making a change. He is making some blacks and whites come tighter little by little. He is doing a good thing by staying on the East End.
ReplyDeleteIf I were Maniac’s friend it would be hard to tell him what I think he should do. If he leaves some people’s lives would be better and he wouldn’t cause trouble. The bad thing is that people would get the satisfaction of pushing him away and things would go back to normal with the two sides. If he stays he would have a home, family and food. He might also keep the two colors together and become friends to the point where color doesn’t matter. Like what happened at “Cobbler’ Knot.” So as his friend I would encourage Maniac to stay.
ReplyDeleteIf I were Maniac I would stay with the Beale's because they are the only people who care for Maniac. If he leaves who will give him food, shelter and the most important a book to read. Even if he doesn't like living with them they're the only people who give Maniac a home to live in.
ReplyDeleteIf I were Maniac’s friend, I think Maniac should stay with the Beales. If he stays with the Beales, then he is part of a family; taken care of, fed, and protected. If he runs away, he would be alone. He is doing amazing feats, such as bringing the West End and the East End closer and closer together! If he’s alone, he won’t be able to do that anymore. He should keep on trying to be nice to everyone, so everyone can be friends with him!

ReplyDeleteI think Maniac should go to the west end and leave the Beales. First of all he is not doing anyone any good by staying in the west end. He is getting teased by Mars Bar and adults to make him go home. Also the Beales are going to get their things vandalized by Mars Bar and other kids, like Amanda’s book and the chalk writing. In the east end there are only the cobras that Maniac can out run any day. Another thing is there are multiple people after him in the west end but only about three in the east end.
ReplyDeleteI think that maniac should stay In the East End. The reason I would say this is because if he goes back to the West End he will get beat up. If he stays in the East End He will have a place to live and food. So I think maniac should stay in the East End.
ReplyDeleteI think Maniac should stay in the East End because he is loved and cared for there. Nobody loves him in the West End. Although I agree with him staying in the East End there are some dreadful things that happened for that sacrifice. Some other people have destroyed the Beals’ property, like one side of their house and The Encyclopedia A. no matter the bad things; he should stay in the East End.
